                       Performance measurement systems are the focus of considerable attention in academic and practitioner communities. They clearly have a considerable contribution to make the management of performance of organizations. However, for this contribution to be realized, it is essential that the measurement systems used are relevant and appropriate for the environment and strategies of the organization. Given the dynamic and rapidly changing environment in which most organizations compete, it is important that organizations effectively manage their measurement system so that it remains appropriate and provides information that is relevant to the issues that are of current importance. Nowadays, Information system changes the business environment completely. Wireless communications, including computers and mobile hand-held computing devices are keeping managers, employees, customers, suppliers, and business partners connected in every way possible. E-mail, online conferencing, Web, and internet are providing new and diverse lines of communication for all businesses, large and small. Through increased communication channels and decreased costs of the communications, customers are demanding more of businesses in terms of service and product, at lower costs. E-commerce is changing the way businesses must attract and respond to customers.

                       Information systems are transforming business and visible results of this include the increased use of cell phones and wireless telecommunications devices, a massive shift toward online news and information, booming e-commerce and internet advertising, and new federal security and accounting laws that address issues raised by the exponential growth of digital information. Internet has also drastically reduced the costs of businesses operating on a global scale. These changes have led to the emergence of the digital firms; most of the firm’s significant business relationships with customers, suppliers and employees are digitally enabled and mediated. Core business processes, or logically related business tasks are accomplished through digital networks.
